Business Details

Located near Wellington Texas, SALTFORK HUNTS provides the unique adventure of hunting trophy whitetail deer and magnificent long beard turkey gobblers on operating cattle ranches that have been family owned since the 1880s. Other ranches have joined with us to further expand our hunting base. The ranches are blessed with an abundance of free flowing water along the Saltfork of The Red River and Panther Creek . These waterways give rise to large stands of cottonwood trees, which produce prime roosting and feeding areas for Rio Grande Turkey and provide whitetail deer with ideal bedding and foraging habitat. Texas hunting areas have a combination of water, cover and feeding areas that combine to make an ideal habitat for large Trophy Whitetail deer and hundreds of Rio Grande Turkey Gobblers. Long beards and heavy antlers abound!

Cost of Hunts

The cost of the hunt is $2200 per hunter for a five day hunt. A non-refundable deposit of $1000 is required to reserve a hunt. All deposits are due at the time of booking. Texas resident licenses cost $25; non-resident licenses cost $315. We ask hunters to arrive around noon on the day before their hunt is to begin. At that time our guides will assist in sighting in rifles, locating stands, and orienting hunters to the terrain and operation. Hunters start hunting on the following morning.

The fee for 2016 is $600 per hunter booking a three day hunt, and $250 per additional day if desired. There is a two bird limit on all hunts; two mature Rio Grande gobblers (not jakes) may be harvested during the 3 day hunt.
